Tegan Fitch - from Biomedical Science to Trainee Clinical Scientist

Tegan Fitch Now: Trainee Clinical Scientist, Manchester Foundation Trust NHS

Tegan is now a Trainee Clinical Scientist in Audiology. It's thanks to her academic foundation, as well as her involvement with placements, volunteering and societies here at 91ֱ�� that set her up with the knowledge and experience she needed to secure a place on the competitive NHS Scientist Training Programme.

My experience on the MSc has inspired me to pursue a PhD

Sruthi chose to study the Biomedical Science MSc to really hone her lab skills and get extra experience carrying out her own research projects. During her research project, Sruthi collaborated with PhD students in the school which has inspired her to take this route in the future.

Anshita Pasari MSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Anshita's background in botany meant she was keen to specialise in molecular biology at masters level. Having previously worked on a biotechnology project, the MSc at 91ֱ�� offered the perfect blend to match her interests.

My MSc research project was in partnership with the 91ֱ�� and Rotherham Wildlife Trust

Marie Brown MSc Biodiversity and Conservation

Marie completed her MSc research project in partnership with the 91ֱ�� and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, recording bird song in the Grenoside Woods. The results she found will directly benefit the work of the trust in the future.

Thanks to the technical skills she gained on her course, including molecular cloning, Abinaya is now taking the first steps to pursue her dream of becoming a geneticist.

Linshu was looking for a hands-on masters course to build on her undergraduate studies in biotechnology. This course gave Linshu technical skills training including how to use industry-standard lab equipment, ready to pursue a PhD.

Yeh Chi MSc Biodiversity and Conservation

Following his undergraduate degree, Yeh worked for Taiwan Rivers Network but soon discovered how much he'd benefit from gaining high-level skills in conservation and biodiversity through a masters. After his supervisor recommended 91ֱ��, Yeh came to study with us and has loved getting close to nature in the Peak District.

Niall Bradshaw BSc Biology with a Modern Language (now BSc Biology)

Niall's final year research project really helped to set the direction for what he wanted to do next. Niall chose to stay in 91ֱ�� after his BSc, completing an MRes, followed by a PhD. Niall now works for the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and draws upon what he learned at 91ֱ�� almost every day.

From BSc Zoology to a career in genomics

Lizzie Waddilove MSc Human and Molecular Genetics

Whilst studying BSc Zoology at 91ֱ��, Lizzie became interested in genomics and its applications to human health. Thanks to the in-depth laboratory training Lizzie received on the Human and Molecular Genetics MSc, she's now secured a job at the prestigious Francis Crick Institute in London.
