The Mental Health Research Unit (MHRU) is a research group based in the 91Ö±²¥ Centre for Health and Related Research (SCHARR).

MHRU researchers undertake mental health research which focuses on the needs of those who experience both common and serious mental health difficulties and the services providing treatment and support. 

MHRU staff deliver teaching across many programmes in the School of Medicine and Population Health, including MBChB and several postgraduate modules and courses. We also supervise numerous Undergraduate and Masters research placements and dissertations, as well as PhD students.

We have close links with , NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire and Humber (), NIHR School for Public Health Research () and , and many other organisations and research partners.
