Profile

Professor Paul Beasley is Head of Research and Development UK at Siemens based in Oxford, with responsibility for managing and developing their internal and external innovation networks in the UK. In his role, Paul identifies innovation opportunities in-line with the Company’s diverse business sectors by supporting global collaborations and managing the university engagement strategy. Paul has been with Siemens for over 20 years where he has also been awarded Principal Innovator status. Prior to his current role he has been Head of Strategic Development, for Siemens UK Technology Group, responsible for identifying and evaluating disruptive innovation technologies and concepts for the future Company portfolio. In 1999, he joined Oxford Magnet Technology from Oxford Instruments, initially heading the Magnet Design and Applications Team and then was appointed Deputy Engineering Director/Strategic Development Manager when Siemens acquired the business.

Qualifications

B.Sc. (Hons.) Class 1. Physics.
Final Year Project – ‘Thermal boundary resistance in liquid Helium II’.

Ph.D. – ‘Positron studies of the annealing processes in Nickel and Gold’.
