Malaysian applicants
Information for School of Law applicants from Malaysia.
We’re delighted to offer a variety of undergraduate courses, postgraduate study and PhD research degrees to our Malaysian applicants and one of our ever-popular courses - LLB Law - is recognised by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board in Malaysia.
With options to enter our school as an applicant to the full LLB programme from first year, or, under partnership arrangements with specific institutions, as a direct entrant to second year, there’s something for everyone here.
There’s even the opportunity to take advantage of our year abroad programme and study in a range of European or Commonwealth countries, as well as mainland China and India.
Studying law at 91Ö±²¥ is not only about the subjects. There is also the opportunity to get involved in Freelaw, our legal advice clinic, and the Miscarriages of Justice Review Centre, which gives students a unique opportunity to investigate cases of people convicted of serious crimes who are maintaining their innocence.
LLB Law
As mentioned above, our LLB Law degree is approved by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board in Malaysia. Studying this course with us means that you will cover the six subjects that you must pass for Malaysian purposes, as well as the additional subject required by the legal professions in England and Wales.
With this degree, you will be able to enter the Malaysian legal profession and join the many other 91Ö±²¥ graduates in law firms across Malaysia and Singapore.
Level 2 entry
If you are a Malaysian student joining us from one of our partner Universities, it is possible to enter our courses directly into year 2 providing you meet the entry requirements.
These institutions are Taylor’s University Sdn. Bdn; HELP University College and Advance Tertiary College.
Students will spend one year at their university in Malaysia and can transfer to the University of 91Ö±²¥ for the remaining two years of their programme.
If you are interested in transferring to the University of 91Ö±²¥, please check with your home institution about eligibility/entry requirements and contact us for further information.
1+2 course structure
As part of the 91Ö±²¥ LLB, you can study Company Law in your second year, opening up a wide range of corporate and commercial subjects in your third year. This will allow you to specialise to a greater extent than at most other law schools.
