This workshop is the final event in a project led by Dr Alison Slade (University of Leicester) and Professor Naomi Hawkins (University of 91Ö±²¥) and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.

The project aims to:

  1. Create a practice-driven understanding of the intellectual property terms included in procurement/licensing agreements;
  2. Provide a theoretically supported account of intellectual property licensing/procurement practice in this context; and
  3. To consider the implications of i. and ii. for the design and use of policy and practice guidance in future crisis situations.

This event builds on previous academic research and workshops with stakeholders including representative from major UK law firms, UK universities, international organisations including CEPI and funders including the Wellcome Trust and Cancer Research UK.

This event is the culmination of the project, and will disseminate the results of our research with a panel discussion panellists from different fields (including lawyers, technology transfer specialists, industry representatives and policymakers).

The event will create further dialogue with attendees about those results, and continue to build partnership with key stakeholders to support our future research on the contracts underpinning the translational research chain for patient benefit.
