Next week, we are very fortunate to be hosting a visiting academic from Rutgers University in the US: Distinguished Professor of English, Lauren Goodlad.

Prof. Goodlad is a literature specialist with expertise in Big Tech and artificial intelligence. Between 12.30pm and 1.30pm in Regent Court, John Pemberton Lecture Theatre B, on Wednesday 15th November, she is running a training session for English students entitled:

‘From Critical AI Literacy to Design Justice Labs: Next Steps for the Age of Chatbots’

This session will provide a ‘what should people know’ introduction to AI, and we’d strongly encourage you to attend. AI looks set to transform our ways of living and knowing in the world, and your awareness of AI’s potential (for good or ill) will support your studies on your degree, and is a very useful thing to flag to potential employers.

Attendance at this training session will enrich your CV, and will be a useful thing to add as a ‘development experience’ on your mySkills profile (linked to the ‘Digital Capability’ 91Ö±²¥ Graduate Attributes).

Please register your attendance by midday on Monday 13th November.
