- Profile

I am passionate about engineering and making it accessible to everyone. Ever since I started my Mechanical Engineering degree in 2008, I have been interested in outreach and supporting the wider understanding of engineering. As a student I founded the Women in Engineering Student Society, the first of its kind in the UK. This group reaches out to a younger generation of potential engineers through their outreach work in schools and community organisations. I also took some time out of my PhD studies to work for the on their radio show and podcast, where I produced content for radio and online publication, explaining science and engineering to the general public.
I started working for the University in 2016 in the student recruitment team for the Faculty of Engineering. During this time I specialised in Access and Widening Participation. This role supported students from a vast range of backgrounds to make the right degree and University choices for their futures in Engineering.
The natural progression was then to support students once they started their degrees, which is when I joined MEE in 2023. I now support the fantastic teaching in the Diamond Labs, ensuring our students have an efficient process for practical learning and that we continually look to improve the teaching we deliver.
