Women in Engineering Student Society
Our Women in Engineering Student Society have been instrumental to the Women in Engineering initiative by reaching out to a younger generation of potential engineers through their outreach work in schools and community organisations.
The society have been in existence since 2012 and have three aims: to inspire a younger generation and raise awareness of what engineering is; to involve engineering students with outreach projects and to improve the overall employability of their peers through various industry activities.
A notable achievement for the society was the creation of a primary school book called Suzie & Ricky: The Crash Landing which had its official launch at the Houses of Parliament in 2015. They have recently launched the sequel to this: Suzie & Ricky: The Ripple Effect and the aim is to have a copy of the book in every primary school in the UK.
