Our new Business Chinese course has launched and registration is now open for the Spring semester 2025!

Expand your influence with practical, business-focused Mandarin training. Master key phrases, cultural etiquette, and professional vocabulary that will set you apart in meetings, networking, and building meaningful relationships. 


Beginners (Topic 1-10)

Who:

Those who have no prior knowledge of Chinese with a business orientation.

Course Content:

Topics cover presenting yourself and your business, as well as establishing business relationships.

  1. Greeting people
  2. Getting to know each other
  3. Introducing your business 
  4. Making a business appointment
  5. Discussing a Business Schedule
  6. Attending a company party
  7. Hosting a dinner banquet 
  8. Buying business gifts
  9. Visiting business associate's home
  10. Congratulating your hosts on special occasions

Each topic is introduced in a two-hour learning session. With sufficient self-study, learners are expected to reach HSK 1/ CEFR level A1.

By the end of the course, students will be able to use appropriate expressions in a formal setting on occasions of reception, introduction, apology, congratulation, carrying out essential business activities listed in the weekly topics at each level. In addition, the course will also equip learners with the essentials of intercultural communication competence, by classroom interaction, supplementary materials, as well as guest talks. 


Elementary (Topic 11 to 20)

Who;

HSK 1 equivalent, i.e., 150 vocab.

Course Content:

Topics cover working with a partner and promoting your business and your products. By the end of course, students will have covered the following topics:

  1. Recruiting staff
  2. Making a business phone call
  3. Arranging staff training
  4. Travelling for business
  5. Staying in for business 
  6. Using company facilities
  7. Digital marketing (use of apps)
  8. Introducing products and services
  9. Finding sales representatives
  10. Negotiating a Deal

Each topic is introduced in a two-hour learning session. With sufficient self-study, learners are expected to reach HSK 2/ CEFR level A2.
