UI Director Professor Beth Perry and her colleagues have published a new open access article on the 鈥淟eadership and the hidden politics of co-produced research: a Q-methodology study鈥. Researchers have been encouraged to co-produce research in order to re-shape relations between the researched and the researcher, however the authors identify the 鈥榟idden politics of co-production as a research approach. The paper is based on original research on that brought together citizens, activists, and practitioners from the public and voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors as co-researchers to conduct action research. The paper considers how leadership and power relations do matter and how Q-methodology can be utilised to study co-production as a research methodology.
