Disabled applicants
We welcome disabled students. We're committed to responding effectively and appropriately to individual support needs. We take all practicable steps to ensure that disabled students can participate in their studies without disadvantage, and can make full use of our academic and support services.
How we consider your application
We have standard procedures for considering your application if you have a disability. Our academic selectors only assess your academic suitability. Your support requirements are dealt with separately by our Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS).
We may ask you to complete an online form where you can give us more information. This is optional, but can help us to arrange in advance any support you might require. Where appropriate, we can also arrange for you to discuss support with one of our advisers, or to visit the campus before you start your course.
Visiting the University
If you want to visit the University during the application process but can't attend one of our open days, you can arrange an individual visit by telephoning us on 0114 222 9872 or emailing myday@sheffield.ac.uk.
