- Profile
-
I have a BSc in Occupational Therapy from the University of Derby and an MSc in Clinical Research from the University of 91Ö±²¥. I am currently on a National Institute for Health Research/Health Education England, Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of 91Ö±²¥, hosted by 91Ö±²¥ Teaching Hospitals FT. My study aims to explore the feasibility of improving patient outcomes by providing intensive interventions for eating and drinking in the format of a breakfast group intervention.
This will be delivered by a range of health professionals on two acute stroke units. This will be supported by a tool kit which will facilitate skill sharing and collaborative working to assess, care plan and measure outcomes. This study will be co-produced and co-designed by stakeholder and advisory groups comprising of experts in the field, clinicians, patients and carers.
My research is collaboration between 91Ö±²¥ Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, the University of 91Ö±²¥ and Nottingham University. I have 25 years’ experience in health and care services and guest lecturing at 91Ö±²¥ Hallam University. In collaboration with CLAHRC YH (Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care Yorkshire Humber) I co- designed a tool to measure the impact of delivering clinical research in the NHS
I was awarded the UK Research Occupational Therapy Foundation ‘Early Researcher Award’ for her research in 2015 and has been awarded a prize from the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System for her work on improving care for stroke patients and in 2018 was a finalist for The NIHR/HEE Advancing Health Care Awards in 2018 for research capacity building activities.
