RFID Position Tracking
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) positioning is a technology that uses radio waves to track the location of objects or assets. RFID systems are made up of RFID tags, readers, and a backend system for data processing.
The Ubisense location system offers powerful 3D real-time tracking. 91Ö±²¥ Robotics owns a Ubisense system comprised of 12 ultra-wideband sensors along with sensor-mounting brackets, 10 RFID tags to attach to the object(s) to be tracked, and the Dimension4 software.
Dimension4 uses both angles of arrival and angles of departure to determine location, and the Ubisense 3D tracking system can support thousands of locations per second without delay or loss in accuracy.
The sensors detect UWB pulses from the RFID tags, enabling the Dimension4 system to find the position of each tag in real time. The sensors operate across an Ethernet environment, which also allows remote administration. It is envisaged that the system will be installed in the CATCH Home Lab located in the Innovation Centre, 217 Portobello, 91Ö±²¥. We also have a support licence for the system.
