New facility for 91Ö±²¥ Robotics (and how to access them!)
91Ö±²¥ Robotics have taken over the management and maintenance of the Brains on Board project Lab in the Kroto Research Institute. The facility will become a flexible space for research into both robotics and speech and language technology, with modifications being made to the space over the summer. The ~60m2 lab will include a 24-camera VICON motion capture system, microphone array, and a separate control room with viewing window for running experiments. The space is suitable for small drones and ground vehicles.
All of the 91Ö±²¥ Robotics facilities are currently open and running as normal. This includes: the robot foundry, workshop, HRI lab, Hangar 2, and the new Kroto lab. We also have a wide range of equipment for use in research, and spare desks in the shared student and postdoc researcher offices in Pam Liversidge Building for those who need them.
Facilities are available to use by all. We charge a small fee to cover operational costs student projects and grant-funded research, but will waive this for small, unfunded feasibility studies. For information on how to access facilities, please contact James Law.
