Profile
I have joined SEAS as a teaching associate in 2019 after completing my PhD in East Asian studies. As a historian by training, I am interested in the study of how colonized people construct their identities in changing socio-political contexts.
Qualifications

University of 91Ö±²¥ (MA, PhD)

Research interests
My research area is interdisciplinary, and draws on a variety of fields including politics, international relations, history, social and political theory within the realms of Chinese and East Asian studies. Currently, I am focusing on the study of ordinary people in wartime China, the strategies and tactics that they deploy in face of political changes, their changing relationships with the state, and the ways they were represented in the process.

Upcoming - Li, Q. (2020) ‘Struggling to survive- The experiences of ordinary people in Manchukuo from 1937 to 1945’, Journal of Modern Chinese History.
