Martin Jay is Ehrman Professor of History at the University of California-Berkeley and one of the world's leading intellectual historians.
He is the author of numerous books, which among them have been translated into twenty languages, including The Dialectical Imagination: A History of the Frankfurt School and the Institute of Social Research, 1923-50, Marxism and Totality: The Adventures of a Concept from Lukács to Habermas, and, most recently, Kracauer, l’exilé.
Martin Jay is the recipient of the Herbert Baxter Adams Award (American Historical Association Award for best first book in European history), the Academy of Literary Studies, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Science Prize of the Aby Warburg Foundation.
