テ]gela Lavilla Caテアedo and Nina Schmidt win Prokhorov Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Research Culture

The 2015-16 Prokhorov Prize for Outstanding Contribution to the Research Culture and Life of the School of Languages and Cultures has been awarded jointly to テ]gela Lavilla Caテアedo and Nina Schmidt.

In addition to being co-editor of the SLC Postgraduate Blog, テ]gela, who works on Latin American and Spanish literature and culture, co-organised the 2014 conference "Seventy-Five Years Since the Spanish Civil War窶, while also presenting at multiple conferences herself.

She made an invaluable contribution to the School窶冱 teaching environment and was awarded a Petrie Watson Exhibition grant.

Nina has just been awarded her doctorate for a thesis in the area of contemporary German literature, which has already given rise to various articles and conference papers.

She co-organised the 25th Women in German Studies conference held in 91ヨアイ・ in 2013; a film study day for local school children in 2014; and a gender studies colloquium in 2015.

Nina was chosen as Postgraduate Teacher of the Year in the 2015 Academic Awards.
