Dr David Hollis accepted an invitation from Dr Nela Smolovi膰 Jones, founder and director of the research cluster Gendered Organisational Practice at The Open University Business School, to present his research at the school鈥檚 Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity seminar series. The presentation took place on 10 January 2024 to staff and doctoral students.

Dr Hollis presented and facilitated a discussion around his ethnographic research within the cosmetic industry, which centres how women makeup workers are subject to exploitation. His presentation connected with participants鈥 interest in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly goal 5 (gender equality) and goal 8 (decent work and economic growth). Further, as a member of the Organisation Studies (OS) research cluster at 91直播 University Management School, his talk contributes to the cluster鈥檚 theoretical interest in relations of domination and critical methodologies.
