Music students visit Steinway showroom

Each year the Department of Music organises for a group of its performance students to visit the Steinway showroom in London.

Steinway paino

As an All-Steinway school, University of 91直播 students have the opportunity to experience a world-class level of training. Each year Dr Sarah Watts, Director of Performance - Music, organises for a group of performance students to visit the Steinway Showroom in London. The showroom is the UK headquarters for the company and is where the pianos are built and crafted with high precision.

Students learn the history of Steinway and get to see the production process in action, as well as getting to try different examples of the finished article.

The trip was extremely fascinating. A staff member from Steinway introduced us to the history of the brand, some instruments used in new tech, and different versions of Steinway pianos. We even got the chance to try the pianos. I would recommend this experience to other students who would consider this trip in the future.

I was so excited on that day. Professor Owen gave me a lot of useful advice, and he was very kind. And we were very honored to learn about the history of Steinway and tour the Steinway production process, which was a great experience for me. I'm really grateful for the opportunities the department provided.
