Description

Future Directions of Arts in the South Yorkshire Region

Arts, Technology and AI; Inclusive Arts for Health and Wellbeing; Sustainability of and in Arts

Join us for a day of networking and to hear about ongoing research and collaborations.

We are delighted that the research centre formerly known as Music, Mind, Machine has become a university cross-faculty research centre for five years with a broadened aim and ambition to investigate and advance the contributions of creative arts and music to human flourishing. The centre uses interdisciplinary knowledge and methods to address some of the most challenging questions in this area faced by practitioners, citizens and policymakers today.

The launch of the centre on 7 February 2025 will feature examples of research, contributions from external collaborators and organisations, discussion panels and workshops, and opportunities for networking.

With a focus on future directions of the arts in the South Yorkshire region, the day should be relevant to a variety of audiences with a shared interest in and commitment to this overarching theme. The sub-themes relate to challenges and opportunities in the creative arts and areas of work where the centre can make an impact.

We would love to see you at the launch and hear from you if you are interested in contributing. Do make sure to register your interest to attend and to contribute if applicable, as places are limited.

This event will interest practitioners, academics, funders, policy makers, industry, students, publishers and amateurs with a shared interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative research on the contribution of the arts to human flourishing.

Register your interest and let us know how you would like to be involved! Deadline for submission of contributions to the launch is 14 January. Registration is possible until 24 January. Both are done using the registration .
