Saleh is an applied researcher with a passion about the strategic management of technological innovation and a particular focus on the healthcare sector. He is interested in studying how digital health platforms can create more value for the society and how they are transforming the economy. He is also interested in exploring the strategic management of knowledge and technology in R&D partnerships, including biopharma alliances. As a secondary research interest, he has also taken part in collaborative research that seeks to identify the origins of the gender gap in financing social ventures (i.e. why is it that female social entrepreneurs are less likely to raise equity financing, and what can be done to bridge the gap?).

In addition to collaborations with leading management scholars, Saleh has co-authored three academic articles with his postgraduate students who followed the path of his doctoral dissertation and studied the performance implications of the "depth and breadth of technological knowledge" in biopharma companies. A fourth student has, under his co-supervision, studied the effect of innovation on reducing the burden of diseases in developed and developing countries.
