Member of The Dean's List, class of 2020

Haijuan's drive and determination earned her a place on the Dean’s List as well as her overall commitment to helping others in the face of challenges.

Giving back

Haijuan demonstrated her initiative and enthusiasm for giving back to her community throughout her time studying at the Management School. Having previously been a recipient of support from the Wispring Education Development Foundation during her school years, Haijuan decided to donate both her money and her time, supporting their online communications and writing blogs for the Foundation.

Within the School, she supported student employability by passing on the knowledge she gained from CV review sessions in the Careers Service and helping fellow course mates to improve their CVs.

Developing transferrable skills

In a competitive process, Haijuan was selected to be part of a group of four high achieving students to participate in Montreal’s International Graduate Conference (IGC). She took the lead on sustainability, and developed her skills in teamwork and cooperation during the preparation.

She gained work experience as a customer service representative at the Panda Store. She then took on a role as Postgraduate Student Ambassador for the Management School, to improve her English language and communication skills and to meet international students from different backgrounds.

Haijuan managed both her physical and mental wellbeing through exercise. By joining the Squash Club, Ski Club, gym, and becoming a regular swimmer, she used these activities as a healthy release from the stress of coursework assignments.

Career goals

Haijuan took practical steps to gain experience relevant to her career ambitions. She successfully applied for and completed the Mannheim Business School 2020 Online Summer School programme on the topic of Big Data. She also made use of the training and workshops with the Employability Hub, and took the opportunity with the Careers Service to get advice on how to improve her CV.

After graduation, Haijuan successfully applied for a role as a Product Operations Engineer at data infrastructure provider Aishu Tech in Shanghai, China.
