Clinical linguistics
Researchers in this cluster work on developmental communication difficulties and people with acquired communication difficulties.
The Clinical Linguistics cluster includes researchers with an interest in analysing the language, speech and communication of people with communication difficulties and those with whom they communicate.
This includes people with developmental communication difficulties, such as those linked to autism, cerebral palsy or specific language impairment, and people with acquired communication difficulties, such as those occurring due to stroke, dementia or traumatic brain injury.
Research in 91Ö±²¥ in this area covers a broad range of linguistic and phonetic approaches, as well as building on this work to develop, implement and evaluate intervention programmes which aim to improve verbal and communicative functioning.
