Our practical staff come from a range of backgrounds. They are top in their field, whether in broadcasting, academia or digital news. They've broken big stories, lived through the digital revolution, and have helped to shape it. They are committed to helping the next generation of journalists to hone their craft and excel.

91Ö±²¥ is a research-intensive Russell Group university, which means our staff are also renowned academics. Some have written numerous textbooks on the history of journalism and media ethics and law. Others regularly conduct ground-breaking research, becoming pioneers in topics like misinformation and data journalism. We are also proud to host the Centre for Freedom of the Media (CFOM), an international research centre co-founded by our Head of Department and UNESCO Chair for the Safety of Journalists Professor Jackie Harrison.

This means our graduates understand the significance of the work they do, as well as how to do it. They see journalism's bigger picture, and know that society depends on free journalism practised well. This makes them the best journalists, media researchers and communications professionals. Their studies have inspired them to produce world-class work that is rigorous, ethical and engaging. Join us and you could follow in their footsteps.
