I joined the Information School as a part-time doctoral researcher in 2020.
I graduated from the University of 91Ö±²¥ in 2011 with an MA in Librarianship after studying Theatre and Performance Studies for my undergraduate degree at the University of Warwick. After finishing the Librarianship course I worked for several years in media librarianship at both ITV and the BBC. Since 2015 I have worked at the University of Huddersfield where I am currently the subject librarian for art, design and architecture.
As both a librarian and research student I have a wide range of research interests which broadly fall into the area of information behaviour. In my librarian role I have researched the information behaviours of art students, student experiences of physical library collections, and academic staff engagement with reading list systems. My doctoral research brings together interests in information behaviour, social media, sport and leisure.
PhD project
The information behaviours of ultramarathon runners
My research focuses on the information behaviours of ultramarathon runners. I am interested in the the role of online communities and social media in the seeking and sharing of information.
