A message from the Disability Matters team in 91Ö±²¥

This morning we learned of the sudden passing of Professor Anita Ghai: the brilliant, groundbreaking and critically acclaimed disability studies scholar. Anita was a dear friend and original driving Co-Investigator of Disability Matters before retiring last year.

We will, in time, ensure that the Disability Matters Programme truly celebrates her immeasurable impact on disability studies in India and across the world: but for now, let us remind ourselves of and give thanks to this true powerhouse of disability studies.

Today’s Online Disability Matters Symposium sits with one of Anita’s greatest achievements: decentering disability studies. We send our love and respect to all Indian disability studies researchers and activists who will be mourning the loss of Prof Ghai. Rest in Power Anita.

Our symposium on 11th December, of which will include a note to Anita:
