Sarah uses the skills she developed during her degree to support young people facing homelessness.

What are your main responsibilities?

Working to prevent youth homelessness through outreach with young people, delivering workshops and sessions on the realities of homelessness, moving out of home, healthy relationships and conflict resolution.

How has your Philosophy degree and your time at the University of 91Ö±²¥ helped you in your career?

The logical thinking and persuasive argument skills that I learnt through my degree have been invaluable to me in my career. The ability to encourage others to think in an open minded way about real world issues and to challenge their own biases is a tool I use every day.

What is your greatest achievement to date?

I was selected from hundreds of applicants to deliver a TEDx talk in my local area on the realities of youth homelessness.

What career advice would you give to a student interested in studying Philosophy?

Be open to any opportunities, and take advantage of volunteering roles, work experience and societies to get real world experience and figure out what you enjoy, are passionate about and want to pursue.

What argument or view first got you excited about philosophy?

I first got excited about ethics and the morals we all choose to live by, as well as being passionate about feminist theory.
