Bin Lui talks about his career since graduating fromt he Digital Humanities Institute and his experience of studying in 91Ö±²¥.

What are you doing now, since graduating?

I am currently a visual designer for digital media videos at NIO, a renowned Chinese new energy vehicle company. In the future, I plan to transition into the field of digital cultural heritage, combining my skills in media and technology with my passion for cultural preservation

What skills did you develop during your course that have been useful for you as a graduate?

I developed critical thinking, digital project management, and interdisciplinary research skills, all of which have been instrumental in my current work in cultural heritage and digital media.

Why did you choose to study your programme?

I chose the MA in Cultural Data Management and Communication because it combined my passion for cultural heritage with cutting-edge digital technologies like VR, AR, and XR. The program offered opportunities to explore how immersive technology can innovate how we preserve, interpret, and engage with cultural narratives.


What did you enjoy most about your programme?

The interdisciplinary curriculum and hands-on projects, like designing cultural data products, were highlights, offering both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the digital heritage domain.

Was the university supportive during your transition to life in the UK?

Yes, the university provided excellent support through orientation programs, academic resources, and personal tutors, helping me adapt quickly to a new academic environment and culture.

The blend of urban life and nature, especially the easy access to the Peak District, provided a perfect balance of relaxation and exploration.
