Regeneration/Gene Therapy
Gene therapy is a medical approach that is used with the purpose of treating and preventing diseases. We use modified viruses to deliver genes into the auditory organ, which is a safe procedure already used in clinical trials for other diseases.

Adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors have proven to be an efficient strategy for transferring corrective genes into hair cells of the mammalian auditory organ. Here at 91Ö±²¥, we have established a Gene-Therapy Suite that allows us to deliver these corrective genes in vivo into several mouse models of human deafness and age-related hearing loss.
