New Student Podcast Sparks Entrepreneurial Spirit on Spotify

A team of creative students part of 'Emerge: Be enterprising' have launched an informative new podcast, "The Spark", to inspire and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Emerge: Be enterprising is excited to announce the launch of "The Spark". A brand-new student-led innovative project brought to life by a dedicated team of students, that seeks to foster a vibrant entrepreneurial culture across the University of 91Ö±²¥ community.

The podcast will be the go-to resource for students at the University of 91Ö±²¥ who are passionate about building their own ventures. This will provide a platform for students to explore a wide range of entrepreneurial topics, from side hustles and branding to industry insights and business strategies. 

The podcast features engaging interviews with successful entrepreneurs and student business owners, providing listeners with valuable advice and practical tips in a popular format.

A New Era of Learning 

Victoria Berry, a driving force behind the podcast, emphasises the practical benefits that "The Spark" offers to students. She explains,

"This project not only allows students to gain valuable hands-on experience in podcast production but also empowers them to develop essential skills like communication, creativity, and critical thinking. By making learning more accessible through a popular digital medium, the podcast aims to empower students to share their ideas and connect with like-minded individuals. This aims to fosters a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and encourages more students to easily engage with enterprise education".

Building an Emerging Brand

The podcast serves as a multi-faceted platform to cultivate awareness for the Emerge programme. By showcasing resources across different mediums, "The Spark" will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to brand and market their products effectively.

The series will showcase a diverse range of entrepreneurial activities happening across campus, featuring interviews with students and faculty from various departments.

This approach not only fosters cross-faculty networking but also highlights the breadth of opportunities available to budding entrepreneurs within the city.

A Collaborative Effort:

The success of "The Spark" is a testament to the brilliant teamwork, professionalism, and creativity of the student podcast management team. They have worked seamlessly together taking on roles as Producers, Presenters, Marketing and Post-Production editors. 

Podcasts are such a trending medium right now, and being part of this project has been an exciting new challenge for me. I’m really enjoying the process and working with like-minded individuals. It’s also a perfect avenue to refine communication skills because, to truly connect with the audience, a podcast has to be both captivating and meaningful.

State-of-the-art Production

The team are one of the first to use the new state-of-the-art studio facilities in the Diamond. Equipped with high-quality microphones, cameras, and lighting, the professional studio setting has played a crucial role in elevating the value of the podcast for those involved. The team extends their gratitude to the Creative Media Team for providing training and access to the facilities. 

The Spark is Ignited:

The first two episodes of "The Spark" are now available on Spotify. In the inaugural episode, hosted by Marren and Stenee, explores the power of branding and effective communication in entrepreneurship. 

The second episode, Alejandro and Robin delve into the world of side hustles, offering practical advice on how students can generate extra income while pursuing their studies. A third episode is on the horizon, so follow the podcast for more valuable insights.
