Prior to joining 91Ö±²¥ University, Amairisa held various positions at Nottingham Business School and served as a teaching and research assistant at several colleges within the University of London.
- Research interests

Amairisa is an applied microeconomist with interests in labour economics, gender economics, education economics, and, more recently, behavioural economics. She investigates the factors contributing to gender, racial, and other inequalities in labour force participation, pay, career transitions, and advancement. Her work has specifically examined the impact of childcare responsibilities combined with work-from-home practices on female racial pay disparities.
Additionally, she has a special interest in how higher education students' perceptions and choices may vary based on visible and less visible characteristics.
Amairisa is interested in supervising PhD students in the areas of labour economics, gender economics, and education economics.
