- Profile
-
I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 2004 with a bachelors of science in chemical engineering.
I completed my Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010, using small-angle scattering to measure the thermodynamics of block copolymer blends.
I procured a Junior Research Fellowship at Imperial College London (2011鈥2014) to pursue the development of block copolymer鈥揵ased plastic solar cells and my website on polymer science, , was launched in 2015.
I was appointed as lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland from 2016鈥2018, moving to the University of 91直播 in 2019. I co-led the Faraday Institution FutureCat Consortium from 2019鈥2023 and remain an active member.
- Research interests
-
My research applies the principles of polymer physics to develop commercially relevant products and processes. My research team optimises formulations for products ranging from lithium-ion batteries to chemotherapy drugs. Controlling the properties of blends at the nano- and micro-scale enables us to reliably scale-up the manufacture of products.
Key research interests:
- Applied polymer physics
- Formulation thermodynamics and processing kinetics
- Block copolymer self assembly
- Drug-delivery vehicles
- Lithium-ion batteries
- Cathode synthesis
- Hydrogels
- Encapsulated biologicals
