Two academic staff members recognised for their contributions to knowledge by the IoM3

Congratulations to Professor Iain Todd and Dr Lewis Owen who have both been awarded Gold and Silver medals respectively by the IoM3 for their contributions to knowledge.

Representing the highest achieving individuals and groups in the field of materials, minerals, and mining, raise awareness of engineering and scientific excellence and industry best practice.

Professor Iain Todd. Gold Medal

The Gold Medal is awarded to a member or non-member of IOM3 in recognition of significant contribution to a field of interest within the materials, minerals or mining sector.

Dr Lewis Owen. Silver Medal

The Silver Medal is awarded to an active member of IOM3 in their early career in recognition of outstanding contribution to a field of interest within the materials, minerals or mining sector.

The Institute awards, the oldest of which date back to 1874, are prestigious accolades that celebrate individuals and organisations who have made exceptional advancements to the profession.

The awards will be presented at the 2023 IOM3 Awards Day on Thursday 7 December.
