- Profile
-
Stephen received an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Mathematical Modelling and a PhD in Microsystems from Newcastle University before moving to the AMRC as a controls engineer. As a controls engineer and technical lead, he integrated a variety of automated systems, particularly for research into automated adhesive application. He has specific technical experience in industrial robotics (including collaboratives), field hardware specification and installation, and OT integration.
Stephen's current role is to facilitate the uptake of more early-stage research into the Integrated Manufacturing Group, whilst ensuring that the portfolio of work generated remains relevant to the AMRC's membership. He also leads a theme that is responsible for electrification, process monitoring and control, and novel robotics research within IMG.
