Profile

I have been a member of staff at the University of 91Ö±²¥ since 1st April 1995 following with the integration of the 91Ö±²¥ and North Trent College of Nursing and Midwifery. I have been involved in the delivery of nursing and healthcare education since 1992, having worked as a nurse in critical and acute care.

I teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in management and leadership in healthcare across a range of our taught and on-line programmes.

Research interests

My research interests are in the field of management, leadership and organisational development within the NHS.

Teaching interests

My teaching interests include management and organisational theory; health policy and acute and critical care nursing.

Professional activities and memberships

I am currently President of 91Ö±²¥ UCU, having been an active committee member of SUCU (and AUT) since 1997. Within UCU the focus of my activities has been on personal casework, health and safety and staff wellbeing although as a senior committee member I also lead on key negotiations with the university on a range of industrial relations issues.

I am a member of the University / SUCU Joint Committee, University / Joint Union Campus Committee (JUCC), University Health and Safety Committee and University Senate.

I am currently External Examiner to Middlesex University.
